Get Chauffeured Around this 4/20 By Lyft with a $4.20 Discount

The 420 jokes and puns abound heading into this Friday’s April, 20th celebrations. Uber’s competitor Lyft had the genius idea of offering a $4.20 discount on Lyft rides in all of the major recreational marijuana cities such as Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and Las Vegas. The idea is not to drive high during the 420 celebrations.

The producers of Super Troopers 2 are also in on Lyft’s action with Super Troopers 2 debuting on 4/20 as well. Unfortunately the reviews coming in for the Super Troopers’ sequel, that is coming out an amazing 17 years after the original movie, are not terribly good. Reports are that the funniest part of the crazy movie will be when people put in the promo code on Lyft to get the discount.

“Lyft wants to be a reliable, and affordable partner for marijuana enthusiasts,” the ridesharing company said in an announcement. “That’s why during April 20 we will also be offering up to $4.20 off your next ride.”

Partnering with Lyft on the cannabis-themed discounts are the producers of the new film Super Troopers 2, which is being released on 4/20.

By entering the code LYFTTROOPERS in the ‘Promos’ section of the Lyft app, the usual car icons on the map transform into Super Troopers characters.

There is now regular discussion concerning the dangers of driving high. Some reports suggest that the amount of people being pulled over in states that have legalized marijuana are increasing. One of the largest debates has to do with police sobriety tests of cannabis consumers considering breathalyzer technology is not a good measure of just how impaired a driver is on marijuana. One way or another, plenty of people on 4/20 will be happy to take Lyft up on its offer. Who wants to have to worry about driving around on April 20th anyways?
