SEWARD, Neb. (AP) — Officers say they arrested a California man after marijuana, hashish oil and hashish wax were found in the truck he was driving down Interstate 80 in eastern Nebraska.
Authorities say a Seward County sheriff’s sergeant deployed his police dog after making a traffic stop around noon Tuesday. A sheriff’s office news release says the dog alerted the sergeant to the odor of drugs in the vehicle. Officers who searched it found nearly 112 pounds (51 kilograms) of marijuana, 995 vials of hash oil and nearly 5 pounds (2 kilograms) of hash wax. The street value of the drugs seized is estimated at $560,000.
The truck driver was arrested on suspicion of several drug crimes. Court records don’t show that he’s been formally charged.
