Weed Recipes: Marijuana Infused Bacon & Mango Bites
Despite our species’ many differences of opinion, one of the almost universally agreed upon viewpoints is that bacon is awesome! Even though it’s not the healthiest of foods, you can’t deny that bacon makes a great addition to nearly any meal whether it be a yummy salad, a nice steak, or even as part of some tasty snacks. You may ask “What could be better than bacon?” and the answer (aside from more bacon) is marijuana infused bacon!
Bacon has been used for a number of different hors d’oeuvres from bacon-wrapped scallops, dates, and even certain fruits to create some unforgettable dining experiences. On that note, we’ve put together a simple recipe for bacon wrapped mangoes to go along with your newly infused weed bacon. Aside from the excellent combination of sweet and savory, mangoes and marijuana infused bacon pair together very well as eating mangoes will make your high even stronger than usual. When you eat mangoes, the myrcene and terpenes enter the bloodstream immediately and these terpenes will then act to quickly trigger the THC from the weed thereby significantly enhancing your high.
Ingredients:
Bacon strips of your preference (standard, thick cut, peppered, etc.)
Finely ground weed of your strain of choice
A mango
Process:
The first thing you want to do is take the bacon that you will be using and lay it out on a baking tray. Then grind up your weed into a fine powder (as fine as possible) and put it through the decarbing process. Once the cannabis has been decarbed, you are going to sprinkle some of the powder on one side of every piece of the bacon and then put it in the oven at around 275 to 300 degrees Fahrenheit to slow cook for approximately 10 minutes. As the bacon’s fat begins to cook it will convert the marijuana so bacon slices of medium thickness will work best for this treat.
Next, you will want to prepare the mango by peeling off the skin and cutting it up into cubes that are big enough to wrap the bacon around. Once the 10 minutes are up, take the bacon out and flip it over. Once again, sprinkle the marijuana powder on the exposed side of the bacon and place it back in the oven for another 10 minutes.
Weed cooks very well in bacon fat and you will have the ability to dictate how strong your snacks will be. After the second set of 10 minutes you will see that the marijuana bacon has crisped and can be removed from the oven. You can then place the bacon on a rack so that any excess grease falls off and you can clean up any residue fat by dabbing the bacon with a napkin. When dried and cooled, fold the bacon strips over the mango cubes, use a toothpick or two to hold them together, and you are all set!
