Celebrity Moms And Dads Who Are Open About Using Marijuana

Sometimes it seems like we know the celebrities that catch our interest so well. Admit it: there are a few you can’t help but read about online, often even without meaning to. We learn their zodiac signs, hear them reveal personal life details during interviews on our favorite TV shows (they shave where?!), notice birthmarks or tattoos, discover how many kids they have, and more. And now, you don’t have to wonder if your fave celebs are fans themselves of kind bud or total strangers to it.

Gwen Stefani, lead singer of pop band No Doubt, two-time Grammy winner, film actress, and mom to three kids, has several songs that boast not-so-secret odes to Mary Jane, including words like “higher”, “spark”, “rolled”, “hydroponic” and “smoked”—buzzwords, indeed. Furthermore, she recorded her album, “Rock Steady” in Jamaica which is sort of ground zero for weed lovers. Why didn’t she just record it in Ohio? Is it because pot isn’t legal there? Just a guess!

“I can’t tell you how much I’ve been through because I will openly say that I smoke weed,” actress and mother of three Megan Fox is quoted in British GQ as having said. The key word here is “openly”, as in, this mama digs ganja and doesn’t try to hide it. Hopefully, as the planet becomes more and more open to pot, people will stop being so judgmental of her.

Mom, actress, and businesswoman Amber Rose claims she doesn’t smoke weed but she likes the way it smells. She was also married to Wiz Khalifa, so at the very least, she probably gets a secondhand high every now and again. Wiz’s comment, “Our son is going to know that daddy likes to smoke” got mixed reviews online. Following her divorce from Wiz, Amber has teamed up with KandyPens to release her own line of vape pens – a pretty blunt statement.

Naomi Watts, actress and mother of three once played a pot-smoking customer service representative in the film Demolition. She was raised in a hippy-esque home with her mom Miv who smoked weed now and then and her dad who was a sound engineer for Pink Floyd. And she’s pals with Susan Sarandon, actor, activist, and mother of three, who claimed to have attended every Hollywood event stoned, except for the Oscars on Watch What Happens Live. Neither of these mamas seems to be shying away from their acceptance, if not use of marijuana.

Madonna, musician, actor, mother of six, and groundbreaking pop star knows her way around the business end of a joint. She claimed it was pot that made her go on an F-bomb tirade during an interview with Letterman. Plus, she’s quoted as having said, “My favorite birthday present ever was a bong shaped like a penis.” So, put that in your pipe and smoke it, world. The lady likes the trees.

Many of us first became familiar with Amy Poehler, comedian, actor, and writer, from her SNL days. Now a mother of two and a huge star in comedy, small screen, and film, she admits in her book, Yes Please, that she smokes pot “a lot less than I used to.”  But she didn’t say that she doesn’t smoke it at all. As far as we know, she still tokes from time to time.

Jon Stewart, dad of two and former host of the longtime hit TV program The Daily Show has a history with the dank nugs. Though he may not be smoking as much as he used to, he is quoted as having said, “Do you know how many movies I wrote when I was high?”

Kirsten Dunst, famous actor and mother of one, was secretly dosed with pot on the set of her recent film Woodstock, she explained on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The cast smoked many “fake joints” in various film scenes, but in one segment, unbeknownst to Kirsten, someone passed her an actual blunt of Humboldt weed. “I’ve never been that stoned in my entire life,” she told the TV show host, revealing to the world that she has indeed at various points in her life called marijuana her bud.

Many first became familiar with Woody Harrelson when he made us simultaneously laugh and swoon on the TV show Cheers. The very famous actor, father of three and weed advocate recently said he quit smoking pot. He cleared it up, however, in an interview with Stephen Colbert when he said, “You don’t have to smoke a brownie, dude, you know what I’m saying?” Touché, Woody!

Besides being mentioned in a random list of celebrities online, actor and mom Sarah Jessica Parker doesn’t have myriad articles about her getting high like so many other celebs. However, she has been seen smoking pot on-screen. In Season 6, Episode 7 of Sex In The City, “The Post-It Always Sticks Twice”, after getting dumped via Post-It note, she gets busted by the cops for smoking weed. (They let her go after she showed them the note.) Whether or not she smokes in real life may be shrouded in mystery, but she certainly has no beefs about being seen pretending to be a fan of the chief.

Drew Barrymore, actress, entrepreneur, and mother of two, has talked some about her experiences with pot, including a quote about getting high for the first time at the tender age of 10. She was also photographed sharing a joint with her pal Cameron Diaz. She is not a stranger to the plant!

Barack Obama (yes, THAT Barack Obama) recently re-told a story from his book to a group of kids at University of Chicago about his time as a young person in the “Choom Gang”, his group of buddies who smoked lots of marijuana while growing up in Hawaii. The father of two said, “I learned from that, I didn’t sugarcoat it.” Yeah, he learned, alright—how to become president!

Julianne Moore would rather smoke pot with Meryl Streep than Nicole Kidman, she told Andy Cohen in a question-based game on Watch What Happens Live. When the mother of two won the Harvard University “Hasty Pudding” pot, an award presented by the undergrad drama club, she chided to the audience, “What will I put in it? My weed. I’m just kidding!” But seriously, we bet she keeps her weed in there.

Liv Tyler, actor, former model (and daughter of rock legend Steven Tyler) and her husband made a deal – she’d quit smoking weed if he would put away his skateboard for good. But the mother of three never said anything about quitting on-screen; her character will smoke pot for all of documented eternity in Stealing Beauty. Also, did we mention she’s Steven Tyler’s daughter? It would almost be weird if she wasn’t open about it.

Kris Jenner, mother, entrepreneur and famous Kardashian crew matriarch shamelessly smoked a joint in a video on Instagram, where she wished her daughter Kourtney Kardashian a happy 39th birthday. With a drink in one hand and a long skinny J in the other, she made 62 look like the new 26. She was also photographed buying a bong at a weed store in Cali “for her mom”, Mary Jo a.k.a. M.J. Shannon, who once ate pot gummies with Kris on an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Kris, you light up our lives!
