Perhaps he took his position as the offensive line coach a little too seriously.
On Monday, Miami Dolphins offensive line coach Chris Foerster announced his resignation from the club, after a bizarre 56-second video was made public, allegedly showing him using a $20 bill to snort several lines of cocaine.
“I am resigning from my position with the Miami Dolphins and accept full responsibility for my actions,” Foerster said in a statement. “I want to apologize to the organization and my sole focus is on getting the help that I need with the support of my family and medical professionals.”
The video, which was released to the world on Sunday by Nevada model Kijuana Nige, was apparently published in an effort to bring some attention to the fact that while Colin Kaepernick has been ostracized by the league for taking a knee during the national anthem in protest of police violence against the black community, many NFL team leaders, like Forester, are getting ripped out of their minds on illegal drugs.
“Welcome to my NFL Sunday event,” Nige wrote after posting the video. “A coach going skiing before practice.”
In the video, Foerster, who has been with the NFL for 24 seasons, can be seen snorting a powdery white substance, while saying to the camera, “Hey babe, miss you, thinking about you. How about me going to a meeting and doing this before I go?”
“What do you think, I’m crazy?” Foerster asks before doing another line.
“It’ll be a while before we can do this again,” he says. “Because I know you have to keep that baby. But I think about you when I do it. I think about how much I miss you. How high we got together. How much fun it was.”
Of course, it didn’t take long before Nige’s video became a viral sensation, spawning a massive digital debate.
“The white people mad at me like I forced blow down this mans nose and like I recorded it on tha low,” Nige wrote. “No those are his habits and he recorded himself and sent it to me professing his love. So quick to make excuses for him but will roast a minority player over an athem, dog fights, weed, domestic issues etc. But y’all keep saying ALL LIVES MATTER STFU‼”
In addition to other comments, Nige also gave some indication that more videos could be released in the near future.
According to a report from the Miami Times, “A source familiar with the layout of offices within the Dolphins facility” confirmed, “that is a Dolphins office and those are the type of desks in those offices.”
A stamement published by the Dolphin’s camp on Monday indicates that they have accepted Foerster’s resignation.
“We were made aware of the video late last night and have no tolerance for this behavior,” the team said. “After speaking with Chris this morning, he accepted full responsibility and we accepted his resignation effective immediately. Although Chris is no longer with the organization, we will work with him to get the help he needs during this time.”
Nige says Foerster is not the only NFL coach that she has dirt on.
